A yellow notebook with “Buy Bitcoin” scrawled on it — the kind that will cost $8.99 for a three-pack on Amazon — just sold for $1.027 million during an auction.

The hastily produced signal was displayed by an intern in 2017 during televised congressional testimony by then-Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen. The poster quickly became a rallying cry for a small but fast-growing community of cryptocurrency developers and investors, and now a sign of cryptocurrency’s renaissance.
