Launched in June 2021, Tech Against Scams is a global nonprofit that partners with leading technology companies to combat scams that spread through social media, finance, dating apps, or any other digital connection.
The formation of this coalition was officially announced by Coinbase’s Chief Policy Officer, Faryar Shirzad, who underlined how the organization’s crucial role is to act together to make the digital environment more secure.
In this case, the action taken by the coalition will be to educate on preventative measures to make cyberspace safer. They use fake identities and contact details to hook unsuspecting users and scam them out of their hard-earned money. It is estimated that scammers defraud more than a billion users per year.
