Mark Cuban: Kamala Harris Could Support Tech Innovation and Cryptocurrencies
Billionaire investor Mark Cuban suggested, in a interview with Politico, that U.S. presidential candidate Kamala Harris may be significantly more supportive of tech innovation and cryptocurrency than President Joe Biden. Cuban noted that Harris, who has experience as a senator and attorney general of California, could become an unexpected ally for the tech sector.
“The feedback I’m getting, although not confirmed by the vice president, is that she’s going to be much more open to business, AI, cryptocurrency, and government as a service,” Cuban shared in an email interview with Politico. He added, “Changing the policies changes the message and lets everyone know that she’s in charge and open, literally, for business.”
Reports indicate that Harris’ team has reached out to key figures in the cryptocurrency industry to ask for input on how to shape cryptocurrency policy. With just four weeks left before the Democratic National Convention, Harris is under pressure to clearly outline her agenda.
Harris’s presidential campaign has already demonstrated remarkable fundraising power. Following President Biden’s decision to withdraw from the race and endorse her as his running mate, Harris’s campaign reportedly raised more than $100 million in less than 48 hours, according to Team Harris. Those donations came from 1.1 million unique supporters, 62% of whom were first-time donors.
